Aims and Objectives

Mission Statement

To promote Niche Directories in direct competition with big search engines to redress the ballence of power on the World Wide Web.

Back Story

Towards the end of 2006 and into 2007 some Internet users (specifically site owners) were starting to notice that big search engines (google especially) had began to dictate the terms under which a site should be run. By October 2007 it started to become clear that there was more to this than quality of search results.

Google's measure of a site's authority was the Page Rank and it had quickly established itself as the measure of advertising value. This directly competed with the search giants own advertsing branch and so Page Rank penalties started to appear in order to hurt the business models of comptitiors. This was felt to be unacceptable.

Within a few days Matt had a prototype directory running. The aim was to take on the gaint via the power of niche marketing methods. A small slice of the cake can now be taken from Google, Yahoo and Ask by any webmaster that wishes to do so.
